Peace Love Bali

TRAVEL INFORMATION.

This page is dedicated to help with the in's and out of travelling around indonesia.

To provide you with information to help with those pre departure worries aswell as to help plan your trip.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

For most nationality visas can be obtained on arrival at the cost of  $25 US.

This visa is valid for  (30 days).

If you wish to stay longer in indonesia it would be best to contact the indonesian embassy well in advance of departure for other options.

Visa's are only extendable on permission.

Check the foreign office web site for information concerning your country's visa requirements and latest details.

Another option to solve the visa problem is to fly out and return to begin  a new visa on arrival.

Although this is going to be an added expense it may not be as bad  as it sounds.

A few days in singapore or kuala lumpar is hardly  a terrible inconvenience.

Asia airlines ia a budget airline with surprisingly cheap flights to kuala lumpar.

Upon writing this page i just checked air asia site.

the cost of  Bali to Kuala lumpar rtn is about  £50 to £70.

Based on an exchange of  RPH 17000 to £ 1.

CURRENCY

The national currency of Indonesia is the Rupiah.

The currency that you bring with you to Indonesia will  depend on where you are going and what you hope to do.

While staying in the main tourist area of Kuta in bali your never far from an atm machine.

This is a convenient way of a ready supply of cash what ever time of day.

The down side is that you will be charged to your credit card for this privilege.

Travellers Cheques

Even in this day and age with computer and world wide banking travellers cheques are still a good option for travelling around.

Some areas even a necessity.

American express travellers cheques are the most accepted as a rule.

So dont let yourself be talked into any others while buying your flight.

other brands may be accepted at banks but not at authoreised money changers.

This could meen difficulties if travelling out of the main tourist areas.

And precious time that could be spent sat on a beach backtracking to find a bank.

also American expresss are a good and secure  way to travel.

With reasurance of  if  lost or stolen help is only a phone call away and the equivalent cash refunded at the nearset bank to your area.

EASTERN ISLANDS

If  you are thinking of travelling throughout the eastern islands be prepared to take cash as the easy option. US DOLLARS is the prefered.

Also some places are not so willing to take creased notes. So best to look after your currency.

Time to travel

If  cost  is an  issue rather  than  time of  year it might be best to plan your trip for an off peak time of year.

If  don't have children and don't haveto holiday at the times the schools ares closed then there is a chance of  a

discounted flight.

Malaysian airlines offer good discounted fares in april.

This year the price to malaysia was £315. While a ticket through to Bali was only £325

I normally travel to indonesia around mid december to spend  christmas time and new year in the sun.

At this time as you would think it is a time of  year when tourism is at its peak.

People from all over the world coming to party and celebrate .

But even at this time of  year i do not prebook my hotel.

Although their is nothing to stop me doing that.

The hotel i use on arrival is" Hotel Puri TannahLot"

Based on "Jalan Melasti" in the area called" Legian"

Hotel Puri TannahLot is a place that suits my requirements a nice hotel in a peaceful location .

At the same time only two minutes to the beach.

Built in the shape of  a court yard with beautiful plants and trees and the swimming pool to the centre.

The location also provides easy access to Seminyak, and Kuta.

SEMINYAK

A more up and coming area with pretty beach front restaurants aswell as some amazing bars and nightclubs.

If you are looking for a place for breakfast or evening meal try the TEKOR BALI. situated by the seafront in seminyak.

Try the breakfast menu. You wont be disappointed.

Also for meal times try some of the fine Balinese food that they specialise in.

The food is served on a bed of banana leaves, aswell as some of the bowls for the sauces are also made out of freshly folded leaves. The waiters wear ceremonial dress.

A word of caution " The Balinese sambal(chilli sauce)is extreamly spicy.

Tekor Bali is also close to other sea front restaurants and bars including the double six with its own bunjee jump tower.

KUTA.

The main tourist area accommodating to all budgets .

From the five star hardrock hotel to backpacker standard accommodation. kuta has it all.

An area with a beautiful white sand beach ,spanning miles.

Its a beach that is not only for the use of sun bathing but also for many its a place to take that morning stroll or jog.

Its also the place everyone comes to nearing the end of the day to sit and relax.

to meet other people and watch the setting sun.

And also easy access to kuta .
